The BCC Geospatial Center of the CUNY CREST Institute (BGCCCI) is a one-of-a-kind center of excellence. Its overarching mission is to create geospatial career pathways from schools to colleges and employers. It is an intellectual hub in the region that has been engaged in the education and training of students, faculty and members of the community in geospatial technology. The center engages in cutting-edge research ranging from advanced spatial and image analytics, and has a network of national and international collaborators. Over the years, the center has built a unique model of self sustenance and is currently powered by a major award from the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education program (NSF-ATE). The center is served by an advisory board consisting of members from the Geospatial Industry and federal agencies.
