GISMO bylaws provide for new elections every two years and so we will be having an election this Fall, 2025. Nominations are open between September 24th and October 24th. We will be voting for all eight Board of Director members and for the position of GISMO President.
You may self-nominate or be nominated by another GISMO member. All nominees must submit a statement about their candidacy, a resume, and a picture of themselves for the GISMO website by October 24th. Statements should be no more than 350 words.
All 9 Board of Director leadership positions, including 1 President, 7 Board Members and 1 Student Board Member, are open for the 2026-2028 term.

Nominations are open between September 24th and October 24th. Voting will take place from October 27th to November 28th, 2025, and the outcomes will be announced at the Annual Meeting/Holiday Party in December.
If you wish to submit a nomination, you must be a GISMO member in good standing as of October 24th. If you received an email with the subject “GISMO Members: Nominations open for 2025 GISMO elections” then your membership is currently active. Please visit the NYS GIS Association Membership page to join or renew your membership. The nomination form will be sent upon your renewal. You may send a copy of your renewal receipt to gismonyc@gmail.com for a faster response.
