Bronx Community College, in partnership with Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY), invites you to a one-day symposium on August 21, 2025, commemorating ten years of a CUNY entity — The BCC Geospatial Center of the CUNY CREST Institute (BGCCCI). This collaborative effort between a CUNY institution, BGCCCI, and the Division of Workforce and Continuing Education is to showcase research themes, promote activities and programs, and commemorate decadal accomplishments at BGCCCI. The conference features speakers from the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences, Hunter College, Department of Computer Science, University of Missouri, Department of Engineering and Environmental Science, College of Staten Island, New York University, CUNY CREST Institute, BCC Division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education, BGCCCI at Bronx Community and private companies ARUP and Vega MX from the Industry. Talks will feature on various thematic areas, including Capacity Building in Emerging Technologies, Climate Change, Geospatial – AI applications, Urban Planning, GISP initiatives. Plenary talks will feature talks by the Interim President of CUNY City Tech, Founding Director of BGCCCI and other leaders in geospatial technology and applications.
The event starts at 8:00 am and ends at 7:00 pm.
